Howdy!
Well, I've posted to the list a few times about this setup, so now, I'll post some pics. Take a look... Feedback welcome! ( to the email addy on my main route66 page )

Yes, I'm the guy that used 'toilet' stuff to mount my drive... Actually, not a plunger, but the stopper from the tank... You know.. the little flappy rubber thing that when you hit the flusher, it pulls up and releases the water... Well, I bought some of the dirt cheap replacement ones.. They are black rubber with a pocket of air and an opening that faces down if installed... I cut the extra rubber from around this air pocket, and sliced a small hole in the side of it.. ( makes the ride a little softer.. ) then I put a screw through the 'top' of the rubber cup into the bottom of a set of 5.25" drive mount rails... Two per rail ( One at each end.. ) Then, to fasten it to the enclosure, I used about 20 lb test fishing line... ( Cummon... Laughter to a minimum please .. ) Ok.. ok.. here's how.. I put a couple of screws about 1.5" away from the end of where the drive was to be.. Tied the fishing line around it.. ( I actually used some of those flat insulating washers that come w/ motherboard standoffs around the screws as well and put the fishing line between two of em.. ) Then, at the other end, I placed two more.. this time I compressed the drive down on the bumpers just a bit and made a couple of loops around the new screws, then tightened them down... What your left with is 4 screws, fishing line across the 5.25" drive mount rails that are attached to the harddrive, and to the rubber 'cups'. I works rather well... I've been running this setup for over a year now with absolutely no damage at all to the drive... Works great...

btw... That black thing on the bottom with the 4 arrows pointing out toward the end of the drive is a drive cooler.
