Hi!
This is my Route66 Box. It is only inside at the moment for it's photo shoot. As you'll note, I built a custom box out of plexi-glass For both the box and the display. The entire job made extensive use of a heat gun. To cut the plexi, I heated the stuff up, and then cut it w/ scissors... ( Yes, you can cut pretty thick plexi-glass w/ scissors and a heat gun. Ok, so I used those utility scissors.. Still scissors. ) The bends were heated and then formed around the edge of a metal filing cabinet. The joints were held together by some LocTite "Stik'n Seal Waterproof Adhesive". The all purpose flavor. It comes in a nifty tube like toothpaste. Just make sure you give plenty of time to set up prior to any stress being put on it.

All connections from the box to the display and from the display to the keypad are made with 6 conductor phone wire. The jack on the main box is configured with both serial and power. The keypad is the directional pad from a gravis gamepad. I used a dremel tool to carve the thing out, and then soldered wires on that go out to the phone jack connector box.

And now, the pictures...
